Community Services
provide a wide range of welfare and care in the community activities, including services to aimed at the elderly and disabled across South County Dublin.
Through a range of services and ongoing projects we aim to provide care, equality, education and support to anyone in our local area. Sometimes we’re seen as an organisation for the elderly or disabled but our services reach beyond that to services for the young, disadvantaged, unemployed or anyone who needs a little extra help. Some of our core services are outlined below.
Home Help/ Care Services
provide home help services to a wide range of people who just need that little extra support. Our clients include the elderly or the disabled, we also work with organisations like Barnados, other day care centres, schools and state agencies. The service is a help to anyone with special needs and especially helps older individuals continue living in their own home. Core services include food preparation, light home cleaning, personal hygiene, shopping and respite for carers.
Senior Citizen Day Activity Centres
Through a number of centres trustus bring senior citizens a range of day care activities varying from the essentials of food, transport to appointments and citizens advice through to social and fun activities like bingo, arts and crafts, outings and functions. Support is provided, whichever way it is asked for or required, rather than forced on anyone. We also offer a number of additional support services to the elderly such as pendant alarm call systems and meals on wheels
Disability Network
The network is designed to create a supportive community of individuals with disabilities where they can meet and interact, organise and take part in activities or even support our work lobbying relevant bodies for greater awareness and support of disabled issues. We also have a specific program targeted at providing support outside of school hours to young people with disabilities and their families.
Community Employment
Now more than ever unemployment is a huge issue worldwide, and we are involved in a number of projects to help people overcome obstacles and get back into work. One area of particular success has been our involvement in Active Labour Market Programmes which promote training and development for the participants. This programme provides specific training and new skills development opportunities for participants whilst also providing much needed manpower for community and voluntary sector organisations.
also engages in network support, mediation, facilitation, lobbyingand seminars. We continually work on a wide range of projects which you can learn more about on our current projects page.
Besides our direct involvement in the community we also support the work of local doctors, nurses, social workers, hospitals, community welfare officers, the clergy, Garda, voluntary organisations, Red Cross, Gamblers Anonymous and Response (mental health support group).
These are just a sample of a wide spectrum of services we offer to anyone in our community that requires help, advice or guidance; so whatever obstacles you may be facing, whatever you want to achieve and however much or little help you may require why not make contact with us today, speak to one of our friendly staff team and see how we can help.
