Our core values
have always had an anti-poverty focus and work tirelessly in promoting the concept of partnership and co-operation across all sectors, in tackling anti-poverty issues. The guiding ethos of trustus is a self-help model based on a philosophy of personal and community development and the belief that;
- Every individual has the right to be treated with respect and without discrimination
- Every individual has the right to be free from poverty and social injustice
- Every individual has the right to work and to receive an education
- Everyone should have the right to identify their own needs and to participate in the work for change, on their own behalf and on behalf of their community
- All members of society should be given the opportunity to embrace life on a level playing field.
Our objectives
The main objectives of trustus are:
- To be a catalyst in community development
- To assist and support other voluntary organizations
- To liaise with local authorities and state agencies
- To be alert to the needs and requirements of our communities and bring their issues to the attention of the relevant state departments and its agencies
- To act as a lobbyist on issues of concern
- To develop new actions or groups to address the needs or gaps in service provision
- To support individuals and families across South County Dublin offering them training, education and employment opportunities.
